Living Free at HeART
Living Free at HeART was born in 2018 when I decided that I no longer wanted to spend my life doing anything I didn't enjoy. I had recently removed myself from an abusive marriage and I was in therapy trying to heal from the psychological effects of the abuse. It was recommended that I try a creative outlet. There are many creatives in my family, but I hadn't really explored art due to fear of failure. My therapist told me that I needed to get out of my own way and try anyway, so I did. To my surprise I had some talent. Art became a part of my daily routine and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share the experience with others. I began teaching classes, individuals, throwing paint parties and eventually created online courses. I now do commissioned work and sell my art as well. I absolutely love what I do. The art community is amazing. I am also partnered with other artists that align with my beliefs and share their classes on this site. I believe in supporting others.
I named my company "Living Free at HeART" because although most of what I do and teach is artistic, I also focus on the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups going through stressful situations or may be suffering from a lack of confidence or self worth. My hope is to help people feel FREE. Free of stress, free of pain, free of harm. This can all be accomplished with some small changes we make, and focus on self care.
I am a licensed Art4Healing facilitator and a former nationally certified Personal Trainer where my focus was on functional and corrective exercise. I also hold a Nutrition Certification with Precision Nutrition. The stress of what I went through in my marriage and my personal lack of self worth, got me off track physically and I gained 40lbs. My mind was being healed through art, but my body suffered. I am working on developing programs to help people in similar situations get back to ultimate health of Mind Body and Soul.
Project 180 is being born out of my experiences and I am hoping to help many through their individual circumstances. There will be many parts to the Project, including Pilates with Amy Cady, a few Art4healing workshops, as well as a journal and guidance on creating achievable goals to help you succeed.
I am truly in a good place now. I have a 15 year old son who has Autism, but he is the light of my life and such a blessing. We both love being active and spending time outdoors exploring and he loves art too! I am so excited to share all of my passions with you.
Thank you so much for visiting my website. Please reach out if you have any questions.
